Delta was commissioned by Hitech Racing to produce a 50% scale wind tunnel model of the Dallara F308 Formula 3 car. We scanned the race car as soon as it arrived from Italy, ensuring we captured all the important surfaces (including the underfloor, radiator ducts, and many areas normally hidden by the bodywork). We then generated a usable CAD surface from this “cloud” of data, scaled it to 50% and engineered it into usable wind tunnel model parts.

In addition to the bodywork, we needed to design new suspension, wheels, wings etc

As well as supporting the aerodynamic development, we have also been contracted to carry out a wide variety of design and operational tasks providing the race team with a full engineering support package.
