BTCC hybrid car tests at Snetterton

The Cosworth-developed British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) Hybrid package has been testing at Snetterton this week. The car, which incorporates a Delta Motorsport designed and produced battery pack, is undergoing its first official outing as part of an extensive testing and development programme before the full introduction of hybrid BTCC cars in 2022. Delta begins work on its first electric aviation project

Delta is beginning its first electric aviation project, working on an energy system for Cranfield Aerospace Solutions (CAeS). CAeS is the lead partner in "Project Fresson", a 30 month project to design, manufacture and integrate a hybrid-electric propulsion system into a 9-seat Britten-Norman Islander aircraft, typically used on short flights such as island-hopping routes. Jaguar Land Rover is to undertake a project looking into the development of a new SUV powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology.  "Project Zeus" is being working on in partnership with Delta Motorsport, UKBIC and Marelli Automotive Systems, with all four UK companies taking part in the evaluation and development of hydrogen technology. Delta Launches MiTRE Range Extender

Delta has launched a brand new micro-turbine technology aimed at helping electric cars match petrol or diesel-powered equivalents. The new system, dubbed MiTRE, was developed with support from an Innovate UK collaborative R&D program and is specifically designed for use as a range extender for electric vehicles. Delta has produced two complete MiTRE prototype systems with 17kW power output and has fitted one into its in-house EV, the E-4 Coupe for further development.
